Poetry Guidelines
GuidelinesGuidelines
Poetry submissions are closed except for submissions for our Remnants theme issue. If you are submitting work for it, please read the call for submissions along with these guidelines, and put “remnants” in your subject line. Submissions without this info will be deleted.
We’d really like to read your work, so please follow these guidelines and the general guidelines carefully.
Please do send work during our open submission periods. If we’re not open, please don’t send anything.
Poetry submissions must contain 4–7 poems. If you are sending an attachment, include all poems in a single document; submissions with multiple attachments will go unread. So we’ll know you’re not a spammer, include the words “fringe poetry” in the subject line of your message. Also include your name and the title of one of your poems. So, for example, “fringe poetry: Emily Dickinson, ‘Fame is a fickle food.’” Submissions without this information in the subject line will be deleted.
We also encourage submissions of longer poetry (40 lines or more). Long poems must be sent separately, only one poem per submission. Include the phrase “fringe longer poetry” in the subject line along with your name and the title of your poem.
We look forward to seeing your poems.
