Matthew Kaberline

Issue 2

Born in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Matthew Kaberline moved to the suburbs of Washington D.C. when he was five years old. Matthew studied Political Science and English at Virginia Tech, graduating in 2003 with a BA.  He is currently pursuing an MFA in poetry at Emerson College, and has a poem forthcoming in Tar River Poetry. An enthusiast of the blues, soul, and Motown, Matthew is working on a sequence of elegies to soul singers including Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, and Otis Redding.  He is excited to be published in Fringe and laughs every time he reads their catchphrase. Matthew would like to thank his parents for being so understanding when he turned down that scholarship to law school.

Blacklight Kabuki

Issue 24

Blacklight Kabuki is the creation of artists Rodger Carr and Philip Blackwelder. Using creative materials – such as original multi-colored fluorescent paints, make-up, and various coatings (some unavailable to the general public), Blacklight Kabuki has mastered fantastic luminescent murals, costumes, make-up, and body art all of which are designed and produced by the artists. Rosalie Morales Kearns

Issue 5

Rosalie Morales Kearns has just finished her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She has stories published or forthcoming in Painted Bride Quarterly, Grain, Kalliope, and other journals. “The Revolutionary’s Wife” is part of a story cycle entitled “The Wives,” which also includes “The Pirate’s Wife,” “The Priest’s Wife,” and “God’s Wife.”

Kevin P. Keating

Kevin P. Keating has worked as a boilermaker, landscaper, painter, bookie’s apprentice, and beauty pageant judge.  He went to graduate school as a last resort and now teaches composition classes as a last resort.  Women have likened him to Tom Hanks and Jack Lemmon.  Men have called him less flattering things, some of which are quite slanderous. His fiction and essays have appeared in a number of literary journals, including Megaera, The Truth, Double Dare Press, Exquisite Corpse, Tattoo Highway, Fiction Warehouse, The Spillway Review, The Plum Ruby Review, The Oklahoma Review, The Fifth Street Review, and many others. Timothy Kercher

Issue 23

Timothy Kercher is in the process of moving to Kyiv, Ukraine from the Republic of Georgia, where he has been editing and translating an anthology of contemporary Georgian poetry. He completed his MFA at Vermont College of Fine Arts in January 2010. His poems and translations have appeared or are forthcoming in the Atlanta Review, The Dirty Goat, Poetry International Journal, The Evansville Review, Ellipsis: Art and Literature, Barnyard Poetry Magazine, Los Angeles Review, Sierra Nevada Review, and others.

John F. Kersey

John F. Kersey is a writer, musician, high school English teacher, and bookworm.  His work has been published through Rose Metal Press, Eye for an Iris,  and in various literary journals.  He lives in Vermont.

Wided Khadraoui

Wided Khadraoui has finally gathered the courage to start submitting nonfiction pieces to different publications. She is an Algerian-American writer, currently living in Brisbane, who grew up in Washington D.C., where everything has a political slant, including where you go for dinner. This is her first accepted submission.

Zehra Khan

Zehra Khan is a Pakistani American, and worked in Karachi as an art teacher in 2006. During her childhood moving from country to country, she was an avid journal keeper and took written correspondence very seriously. As she established her relationship with art, she began combining the text with images. Her work is often about issues of identity, and the method of text layered can be linked to Islamic calligraphy. Amanda Kimmerly

Austin Kleon

Austin Kleon is a writer and artist. He’s best known for his Newspaper Blackout Poems–poetry made by redacting newspaper articles with a permanent marker. Reese Okyong Kwon’s stories are published or forthcoming in American Short Fiction, Kenyon Review, Missouri Review, Sun Magazine, and elsewhere; her nonfiction is published in the Believer, More Intelligent Life, and Rumpus. She has received scholarships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Norman Mailer Writers’ Colony, and Ledig House International. In addition, she has been named one of Narrative’s “30 Below 30” writers.
