Running On about Michelle Menting

by Llalan 11.16.2009

I don’t run. A 26.2-mile run through the wilderness is a new kind of hell. But Michelle Menting is braver than me. She takes it on and writes about the experience and the thinking that goes on behind an undertaking like this in On Marathon Thinking. All you runners and even people like me, here’s your chance to discuss Michelle’s piece.

I loved this piece. Though I’ve never summoned up the courage or endurance to run a marathon (or any long race for that matter), I’ve been known to run a few miles around the neighborhood, and it’s the thoughts that sustain you. I really thought the format and the mix of writing about running and writing about thinking worked beautifully.
